"Sultan"

Right from the get go he excelled and at 6 months and a day, owner handled, he achieved an AKC Conformation Best of Breed and Group 4 Placement which began his showing career in grand style, which carried to the lure coursing fields as he became a dreadful contender to watch for as some lure operators may remember and attained his lure coursing championships in both AKC and ASFA by the time he reached 20 months of age. Over the years while traveling extensively with him and his mentor Luxor we met so many wonderful people and consider many as friends.

In June 2013, Sultan was operated on to remove a malignant tumor from the right side of his neck. Within a few weeks another tumor appeared on his left side which would have required an extensive operation removing some ribs and at least a month of radiation 6 days a week and or chemotherapy. Following discussions with the surgeon etc. we made the decision (as neither one of us would have wanted to go through the ordeal) to let Sultan enjoy the remaining of his time as comfortable as possible. It turned out that we had a chance to enjoy him and his silliness for another year and 9 months. On Wednesday, he had a mini stroke as the tumor had traveled to his brain which began his downhill descent.

On Friday afternoon it was with a heavy heart and many tears that Moe & I had to say good bye to our lovely Sultan who brought 13 wonderful years of joy and who is now at the Rainbow Bridge with his buddy and mentor Luxor and each his lure coursing buddies who left us all at such a short time in their precious lives.

None of this would have been possible except for our dear friends Phil & Darleen Dimor, entrusting us which such a sweet boy, and our wonderful friend Marilyn Smith whose Kennel littered the original clan. Sultan has left us with so so many precious memories which will remain in our hearts forever and we cannot thank you enough for the special gift!
