"Miss Betty"

Betty came to us at almost 4 years old in June of 1996. Betty came into our lives & just took over as Queen Bee.

We thought that our first afghan Max would like the company. While he never had a bad word to say about her, I do think that he ignored her at times.

Betty introduced me to Lure Coursing. We made many friends in that sport over the years. Betty already had her AKC JC title and was started in ASFA points when we got her. All I needed to do was find a trial and Betty did all the rest. At the tender age of 7, Betty earned her ASFA Field Championship title (FCh). I was estatic! It wasn't easy keeping a dog that liked to eat in a weight that allowed her to run well!!! At age 11, she still ran when the course was short & the weather not too hot. She loved it and the crowd loved to see her out there!

I awoke on the morning of February 12, 2006 to find about 5 inches of snow on the ground. I went looking for Betty as she loved the snow & there she was, already gone to sleep forever on the couch!! It was so unexpected but she did it her way and on her favorite spot. She was 13.5 yrs old.

We miss you Queen Betty!!!!
